You Too Can Qualify for the Olympics

You Too Can Qualify for the Olympics

This winter, hundreds of college students will be playing their hearts out, trying to qualify for the NCTTA Championships. Some might also be trying to make it to the World University Games, or the ITTF World Championships.

But there's another way to make it to the Championships without hitting a single ball: Volunteer to serve as an umpire.

NCTTA and USATT are looking for a fresh infusion of new umpires. Some traits of good umpires:

* Love table tennis
* Have high ethical standards
* Be intelligent
* Be willing to study the rules

Umpiring is a great way to stay involved with table tennis long after college. Umpires are an essential part of any competition. Good umpires have the opportunity to go to major tournaments such as the NCTTA Championships, World University Games, World Championships, and even the Olympics.

Interested? Fill out this form here, by January 31. Guidance and training will be provided, and good candidates will be invited to the NCTTA Championships as their first major event. Send any questions to Kagin Lee at kagin.lee@nctta.org.
